October 9, 2018–Pasadena, CA –Forza Silicon (www.forzasilicon.com), a leader of advanced image sensor and mixed-signal IC designs for digital camera applications, today announced that its chief technology officer, Daniel Van Blerkom, will present at Image Sensors Americas 2018 in San Francisco on October 11, 2018.

Daniel Van Blerkom will present a paper titled “SPAD vs. CMOS Image Sensor Design Challenges – Jitter vs. Noise.”

The presentation will highlight the unique design challenges of SPAD sensors due to high voltage biasing and the high-speed asynchronous nature of the detectors. In addition, the talk will uncover some critical commonalities in design approaches and architectural trade-offs between CMOS image sensors and SPAD sensors, and how they can be leveraged for SPAD sensor development.

“SPAD foundry processes have recently become available to our customers, and we are excited to be working on cutting edge designs in these new technologies,” said Dr. Daniel Van Blerkom. “We’ve found that our expertise in CMOS image sensors is highly applicable to these new designs.”
